Luncheon Club Tea Party

Last week AUITC hosted our 1 st Luncheon Club Afternoon Tea Party at the Crossbar for the older
members of our local community. On what was a distinctly un-summery day, 36 people attended the
event and were treated to a traditional afternoon tea of sandwiches, cakes and scones along with a
glass of fizz. A great afternoon was had by all with entertainment provided by “Tony the Crooner” who sang a selection of the old favourites and hosted the bingo sessions and games.

Food was provided by Angela Gratton and her hard-working band of volunteers who give up their time for nothing and for whom we are thankful as always.

Thanks must be recorded to Taylor Wimpey for their generous financial support without which we could not put on such an event which provides such a great afternoon out for our older generation also, not forgetting Matalan (via Charlotte Hobson) who donated new clothing that was handed out to all the attendees. Our regular weekly Luncheon Club will be starting again in late October / early November so watch out on our website and social media for details in due course.
