AUITC Receives Funding from the National Lottery Community Fund

Ashton United in the Community Receives £19,757 from the National Lottery Community Fund to Celebrate and Support Volunteers
Ashton United in the Community (AUITC) is delighted to announce we have been awarded £19,757 by the National Lottery Community Fund to deliver our new project: ‘AUITC: Volunteers Matter’.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, making a huge positive impact across our community. Thanks to this funding, we can now build on our success, further recognising the value of our volunteers and ensuring they are well-supported.

Over the next 12 months, ‘AUITC: Volunteers Matter’ will help us:
-
Recruit new volunteers to join our team
-
Retain and support existing volunteers
-
Provide essential tools for their roles, including e.g. PPE and warm, dry clothing
-
Offer refreshments during activities
-
Host recognition events, where volunteers will receive certificates, badges, and opportunities to celebrate their successes with peers, family, and friends

AUITC Project Manager Steve Hobson commented:
“We are delighted to receive this award which in part reinforces the King's Award for Voluntary Service we achieved recently. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation, making a huge impact in our community. Additionally, we support volunteers on their journey, be it to gain knowledge, skills, and experience; qualifications, or simply to operate as part of a team and make friends along the way.”

AUITC extends sincere thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund and the players who make this support possible. This award will ensure we can grow, recognise, and retain the volunteers who make a lasting difference to our community.
